This metric is capturing the amount of revenue and purchases users are making in app. This includes stereotypical in app purchases like buying “gold” or “extra lives” in games, which are a one-time purchase for in game content. However, this also includes in-app purchase subscriptions like subscribing to Netflix, Hulu, The Wall St Journal, VPN Tools, Health & Fitness Subscriptions, etc. However, this does not include subscriptions which users purchased outside of the app (i.e. at Netflix.com) or which did not travel through Apple & Google’s hands. So for instance when looking at e-commerce apps like Amazon, Walmart, etc. we are not going to have visibility into the purchases they make on those apps.
